Tribute to Coltaire Z

Yesterday it was a very sad day for the Portuguese equestrian community. One of the best horses we knew, Coltaire Z, had to be put down after a bad fall at the Portuguese Jumping Championship finals in Lisbon.
Coltaire suffered multiple fractures and his owners, Marina Frutuoso de Melo and António Frutuoso de Melo had to let their long time partner go. With Coltaire, Marina won 5 gold medals at the Portuguese Championship and many more at important GP's and Nation Cups - he really was the horse of her life.
Marina had planned to retire Coltaire, who was 18 years old, from the international competition this year in Aachen.

I was lucky to watch Coltaire jumping several times and even to go to Marina and António's equestrian property in Benavente. Here are some of my photos at the LGCT of Estoril:

Although Coltaire leaves us more than 1000 sons, he will never be replaced! RIP Coltaire Z!

Summer 2015 - Fixdesign

Every season I go to Fixdesign's website because I am always sure their new items are terrific. This time was not an exception and I fell in love with two items that maybe I will be lucky enough to get.

The silicone print breeches are gorgeous, I will probably get the grey ones! I will also probably get the sweater but maybe later, when the price gets lower!
What do you think about the blue ones? Would you buy them or are they too light? Make sure you visit their online store to see all the different models and colors.
Have a nice Friday guys! I am going to the barn tomorrow!

LGCT - Tops International Arena

As some of you may remember, last Summer I travelled around Europe in order to know some iconic places related to our sport. One of those places was Valkenswaard, where I spent a day at one of the most prestigious events of the sport: the Longines Global Champions Tour (read my trip diary about this event here)! That experience was truly remarkable for me - it was one of the best days of my life because I was able to: meet Stal Tops, the dream equestrian estate of Jan Tops and Edwina Tops-Alexander; watch the Grand-Prix; having lunch around all the riders; do a little shopping at the shopping village and - my favourite part - meet my idol Ludger Beerbaum (he was super nice, I even had the chance to take a photo with him!) and Luciana Diniz, the only rider who represented my country at the GP (I thing she wasn't really expecting to hear someone calling her in Portuguese! Got a pic with her too.).

Last year's arena

In 2014 the Valkenswaard leg of the tour was amazing but this year I can tell you it is going to be one million times better! Why? Because the stunning Tops International Arena will be launched at the event and, as LGCT says, the show «will be crowned by a thrilling official opening ceremony, featuring live entertainment, on Friday 14th August»

The new facilities
«Spectators and guests will enjoy exceptional surroundings ushering in a new era for the sport in this prime location in Europe. A beautiful and dramatic raised wooden walkway will take VIP guests to a range of stunning hospitality boxes and lounges with exclusive interior design featuring high quality luxury materials. Bespoke wood and stone structures will include the breathtaking “Spider” reception area where guests can admire art and sculptures. There are privileged views of the immaculate competition arena from the elevated Sky Box hospitality suite where guests can reserve seats to enjoy Michelin-standard catering.», said LGCT.
Edwina has given her fans a sneak peek of one of the tribunes, it looks great:

I don't know if I will be able to attend this 12nd round of the 2015 tour - I really, really, really hope so! - but I am super curious about everything! Is anyone going? What do you think about these changes in Valkenswaard?

Riding Bodysuit by Aztec Diamond Equestrian

How many of you struggle to keep your show shirts on their place while you are riding? I surely do, so this new riding bodysuit seems great to me and I am very curious to know more details about it!

Grey Riding Bodysuit by Aztec Diamond Equestrian
This is a brand new item that AD has created for the 2015 collection, it caught my attention from the moment I saw it for the first time. As I was crazy busy studying for my finals, I didn't have time to look for it on their website but today, after my last final, it was one of the first things I did.
Aztec Diamond has a very particular style, from the name to the clothes, everything is special and some of the items are very different from the classic equestrian style we know! The bodysuit is actually one of the simplest items they have but, in my opinion, one the best because of its innovation and cooling/wicking technologies of the fabric.

I would love to see more versions of this riding bodysuit (more colors, new designs, etc.)! The overall aspect of the bodysuit is good, however, I believe the seams would be visible on the breeches and that is an issue to me! I need to see someone wearing this piece to have a clear opinion on it!
