[ROOTD] There's Really Nothing Better...

...Than coming back home to this one!

Hey everyone! How is your week going? I've been quite busy as this is my last week of classes before Christmas break!
These photos were taken the day after I arrived from Paris so I had quite a big smile on my face because I was near my Gali again. I love travelling but I also love coming back and immediately going to the barn - I remember my dad being mad at me because I always asked him to drive me to the barn the second we arrived from our holidays!
I thought this was a nice day to take some photos because I was wearing quite a few things for the first time, yay! I also took my Horse-A-Porter bag with me because I couldn't miss the opportunity to properly show it to you, I finally have a decent sized and beautiful (that pattern with the bit ♥)  bag that I can take with me on my trips!

Focusing on the outfit, let me start by mentioning my new EGO7 Orion boots that I brought from Salon du Cheval: I needed a new pair because my old fellas were in desperate need of retirement. I thought they were still in great condition until I tried a new pair and discovered again, after so many years, what comfortable boots should feel like. I can't tell you how much I love them but I will leave that for a review!
Then, also from Paris, there's my new winter jacket from HV Polo. The Surrey jacket was a fabulous last minute find, although I never thought I would like to wear this color! I didn't own anything from this brand but now that I do, I can't recommend it enough (this jacket has become my first choice in just two weeks).

Coincidence or not, my friend Carolina kindly offered me this beanie and I swear she didn't know I had just bought a jacket in the exact same color. When I arrived at the barn and saw it I couldn't believe it - same name, same taste, maybe?!
I've worn this breeches and this sweater so many times that I think you may be tired of them already! If any of you don't know them, the breeches are from Euro-riders although I can't find them online and the sweater is from the Eskadron Fanatics collection.

In my opinion, the GP belt, also from Horse-A-Porter, upgrades this outfit to a totally different level. The entire outfit is super casual but then with the belt it all comes together to a smarter look. You can't really see it in these photos but the belt is red on the inside, it reminds so much of Louboutin!

Do you feel like me when you spend a while without your horses? What did you think of this ROOTD?
See you on the next post,

Salon du Cheval'17

Hey everyone! These last weeks were as hectic as epic: last weekend I was in France and this weekend I was back in my country competing so now it's time to slow a bit to tell you everything.

I will start my posts about Paris with this one from Salon du Cheval...and where to begin?! Perhaps by saying that it was great!

Although I already knew the Salon from last year's edition, it felt like I was there for the first time. There's always something new to see and that place is so big that I never have time to see everything in detail!

There were 90 000m2 to explore and to get lost (oh boy, I got lost so many times!!! Hahaha). From stands, to competitions, to auctions and ponies...the Salon has it all and I never get tired of it - can I plan next year's trip already?!

As I arrived late on Friday, I didn't have time to visit the fair that day so on Saturday my entire morning and half of my afternoon were spent there, as well as some hours on Sunday, wandering from booth to booth. At Salon du Cheval we find products that we don't even imagine that exist and worse than that, we leave thinking how much we need (want) them.

What amazes me the most is the effort that all the brands/stores put on their booths. CWD was one of my faves because of the colourful wall but there were so many more that I would never end this post if I showed you all of them - the solution is to visit the Salon! :D

I decided to mentally write the list of the things I wanted to buy at the Salon and then on the last day I would get them before leaving. I end up buying a few more things - this always happens!!! - but I left the most amazing Harcour saddle pad there because I was not sure if I should get it and then when I decided that it would come with me, the Fleur saddle pad sad!
The only thing that I wish that was different was the closing hour. During the days I was there it closed at 7pm which I think it's a bit early but I understand that there are lots of people working at the Salon and that they must go home as well!

Next Thursday I will upload the first travel diary of this trip on my YouTube channel, make sure you are subscribed!
See you soon,

Gift Guide #1 - Horsely Lifestyle

Hey everyone, Holiday Season is here and I'm so excited about it - I love Christmas. There's nothing better than a fireplace, a Christmas tree, great food, family and, of course, presents! It's time to start posting some gift guides. During the next weeks I will post some more!

With Black Friday just around the corner, I thought that it would be great to start Equestrian Trend's 2017 gift guide with four products from a brand that will have some Black Friday deals. I own all of these and decided to include them here because they are some of my current faves on the equestrian lifestyle category.

All of the following products are from Horsely, an Australian brand. They ship the products really fast (I thought they would take ages to get here but they didn't!) and the prices are really fair.

Although it isn't 100% horse related I had to include this bag on the list because I've been looking for a bag with this type of strap for ages. My mom owns one but she didn't let me bring it with me, when I showed her this one she said that mine was prettier (and it is way cheaper muahahah)!
This vibrant bag is small but has a lot of room inside - believe it or not, I had my phone, two purses, home/car keys and three carrots (glamorous life of an equestrian) inside of it when I took these photos.

I love how it goes with my Quarter Zip Riding Sweater from Equestrianista (this sweater is a long time friend of mine) and with my grey GPA breeches.

- Sterling Silver Horseshoe Pendant

A must-have. I've been on an "equestrian jewelry" mood lately, I got the bracelet from Horsegloss (see previous post) and then this necklace. I've been wearing them almost every day, either at the barn or at college. I must refer that the shine of this necklace is absolutely ridiculous in a good way, I feel like I am wearing something way too expensive ($$$$$$) and yes, I'm a kid and I feel like a princess wearing her diamonds. :)

- Braided Duo Stretch Fit Belt

I am not a person that would spend a fortune on a belt. Yes, I like them but I like my money as well, sorry! Although I enjoy this type of belts I always find them way to expensive or with weird colors - my local tack shop has similar belts but they are incredibly expensive and the quality, details, etc. are not the best! But this one...ahhhhh, finally a brand that has color combinations that I like (and an impressive variety!).

My favorite: the chocolate brown leather details. In my opinion those are what make the belt beautiful. Usually the leather has the color of the belt but brown leather is brown leather, it makes everything better!

- Solid & Elegant Horse Pillow Cover

Okay...I'm 20 and I've got a giant unicorn and a brown horse on my bed but please ignore them. My last suggestion is this pillow cover that matches my duvet perfectly, YAAAY!
If you follow me on Instagram you may know that my bedroom has an incredible amount of horse-related decor...I just love everything that reminds me of horses. So obviously this pillow had to be included on my crazy horse girl decor!

Bonnie wanted to show you that she loves this combo as much as I do! The brand has more colors available though.

That's it for today, I hope these suggestions were useful!
On the next "Gift Guide" posts I will include some suggestions for the horses as well.
Photos: Carolina Fontes - except the last two that you can obviously see that were taken by me! :D

New FreeJump Soft'Up Classic

I must say that the first time I tried FreeJump stirrups was only a few weeks ago when a friend of mine asked me to ride a horse and she had a pair of FreeJumps on the saddle. I don't know how this is even possible but yes, they have been around for ten years and I only tried them now.

Although I always thought they were really nice looking, I never thought that I needed them, specially after that polemic video of Henrik Von Eckermann that gave me some mixed feelings.

I always felt comfortable in my Sprenger stirrups but it all changed as soon as I put my feet on the FreeJump for the first time. I immediately told my friend that I wanted them because it feels like they help you keeping your leg and ankle in the most correct and perfect position - weird, ha?! As much as I read about all the science behind them I can't understand how they can help me feeling so much more stable. There's also something that concerns me a lot and I already talked about it with you, I'm super afraid of falling and getting my foot stuck on the stirrup, it already happened to me once and, omg, it is NOT cool guys... so that's why I would prefer having an open stirrup.

Anyway, now that I've told you that FreeJump is my most recent love concerning stirrups, it is time to introduce their new product: the Soft'Up Classic stirrups that were created by Pénélope Leprevost, designed by Pininfarina which is an Italian design studio and produced in by FreeJump in France.

These new stirrups were designed for women as they have a smaller size that would fit us better - I find it so interesting that now so many brands make products specially for us! Another thing that is different in this new stirrup is the straight eye, if you recall the previous Soft'Up Pro had a different shape on the place where we put the stirrup leathers, now they have brought it back to the classic style which is a great thing as I have heard some people saying that it wasn't that comfortable!

FreeJump also added some new colors to this new collection - although the brown ones have always been my favorite, I am sure that me and the pearl navy/black would be best friends!!!

Are you a fan of the new collection?
See you on the next post,

Cold Days & A Cute Horse

Hi everyone! It's crazy how easily we go from the crazy hot days to the super cold ones and this happened a lot during this past week.
Last Wednesday was a holiday so I went to the barn really early to ride Gali, I love being at the barn when the day is still starting, I feel so relaxed.

I was feeling so cold that I decided to take a beanie and a scarf with me - obviously, everybody laughed and asked me what I would wear during the Winter!
I also wore my rose gold "Horse Treasure" bracelet that I just bought at HorseGloss and I love the way it looks on this outfit. When I first saw the bracelet on their Instagram account I loved it so much but it was out of stock so as soon as it was back I immediately bought it, I was really afraid that it would fly off the shelves again. :)
It's super discrete and not big at all but when I look to this bracelet I think it is so gorgeous. Am I the only one obsessed with it?!

My v-neck sweater is from Ralph Lauren and although I bought it many, many years ago you can still find some that look exactly like mine. It's cozy but good looking so I usually wear it with my trusty Equi-Thème vest that I never get tired of wearing. I've written more times than I can count about it and there is really nothing else to add - it's pretty, it's comfortable and it's not the only vest I own but it is definitely my favorite!
The breeches are from Spooks as you probably know as well, not only because of their signature blue  color but also because I wear them a lot, hahaha.

Gali was clipped not long ago so before and after riding I put him his new quarter sheet from Equi-Thème. A friend of mine was selling it and it looks like new, it was a great deal.
Lastly, his ear bonnet is from Kingsland Equestrian and was given to me by my super boyfriend who doesn't understand anything about horses and still nailed it! It is from this Winter's collection and looks much better on Gali than his other bonnet from Kingsland's classic collection.

I didn't want to end the post without sharing this last photo with you. When Gali had a colic this past Summer I honestly thought we would lose him so after that I have been thinking a lot on how lucky I am to still have my boy with me. I have been working hard to make sure his physical condition is great and that he his healthy. I must say that I feel super proud because the colic completely knocked him down but he has had an amazing comeback, he's looking better than ever.

Would Gali Be A Great Kingsland Model Or What?!

Hey everyone! On the previous post I shared my latest YouTube video where I opened a huge box full of products from Kingsland Equestrian that I won on a giveaway (watch it here).
As I am obsessed with this brand I had to take some photos of Gali wearing everything and post a review here on the blog!
First things first, I know Gali looks like a polar bear but I was so excited to take the photos that I didn't want to wait until he was clipped (we was clipped right after the shoot hahaha!).

The prizes from the giveaway were the Kingsland Classic Stable Rug, the Classic Wraps and the Classic Stable Bandages. I already owned the halter which makes me super happy because now Gali has a complete Kingsland outfit!

When I saw the wraps my first thought was that the fabric is super soft, it almost feels like a cozy blanket but I also said that they would probably be too big for Gali. Yes, they look giant and puffy but once I put them on I changed my opinion. You can see that they have some volume but I actually like them this way - I can't cover him in bubble wrap but I can use some extra protection! :)
They are not the easiest to put on but it was only a matter of time until I got used to them!

The stable bandages were the only prize that I had seen before in real life so I already knew them. They are not very thick which is cool but I just hope Gali acts like a grown up (so far so good...) and doesn't rip them because I have the feeling they would be easily destroyed by his teeth. They were probably designed for well behaved horses anyway!
I must refer that they are wither than my other stable bandages so they make my job with the Kingsland wraps easier.

Now my favorite thing, I always wanted to have a Kingsland rug!!! I remember my first trainer had one and I was always admiring it so you can imagine my happiness for winning something that I wanted so bad...
I already loved it because of its beauty but after touching it and trying it on Gali I only regret that I didn't buy the rug before. As I have said on the video, its quality is supreme and it looks very, very comfortable. It is waterproof and covers half of the neck without blocking Gali's movements (see the photo immediately above).
If you need to buy your horse a new rug, go for this one - I can't recommend it enough!

I must thank Kingsland Equestrian for giving us the opportunity to win such amazing products!
Hope you all enjoyed this little review and the photos, see you on the next post!

Miss Shield: A Review

Half a year ago I changed my regular Samshield Shadowmatt for the Miss Shield. I bought my first Samshield when they start appearing on almost every rider's head - it was definitely a trend all over the world. I bought it because my previous helmet wasn't a great one but I probably ended up buying this brand because I was also a "victim" of that trend.

I ended up falling in love with it, my little black Shadowmatt was super comfortable, I felt safe in it and it was pretty. I didn't think it look fabulous on me but I thought that was something that would happen with all the helmets on Earth.

I used it every time I rode for about 5 years and the scratches and rust started appearing, the silver paint on the front disappeared leaving only a white and ugly square - it was the right moment to replace my old buddy!

I thought I would get a GPA First Lady but for some reason their helmets don't make me feel 100% safe and there was another problem: would I really spend around 600€ on a new helmet? I didn't think so.

Then everyone started talking about the Miss Shield so I decided to wait and see if was worth it. When I first saw it it didn't love that band on the front. It looked a bit sloppy, like if it was there because they didn't find a better way to join the two parts of the helmet but then I looked at the premium version and I thought that it was a fun way to personalise them.

The visor and that front band are the only two different things on the Miss Shield, everything else is just the same you get on a regular Shadowmatt helmet: the outer shell is made of polycarbonate, the inner shell is made of polystyrenene and you have the same foams to place inside the helmets as well. The ventilation of this helmet is just as incredible as on a regular Shadowmatt too.

There is only a negative aspect, not only on the Miss Shield but on every new Samshield helmet...In my opinion the finishes on the interior of the helmet seem to have lost some quality because now they are made of plastic or something that looks like it.

Now onto the real question: is it worth it? If you like this brand but the size of the visor is completely indifferent to you, go for the regular Shadowmatt. The comfort and features don't change as I have said above. Its suggested retail price is 295€ and for the Miss Shield is 345€ which is a 50€ difference. There are some stores that have lower prices though!
If you are looking for a long visor then this Miss Shield is the cheapest I can think of and the one I recommend you - comparing with GPA's First Lady and Kask's Star Lady.

Uhh and I almost forget to say this, the Miss Shield looks a million times better on me than my old Shadowmatt!!
