Grooming Tip #1

I have basically spent these last few days at the barn which means that I have had more time to chat with my equestrian friends (best kind of humans, they always understand you haha).

Yesterday when I finished schooling my horse I was taking him to the shower and carrying his shampoo when a friend of mine told me that I should try Betadine (surgical scrub) instead. First I didn't understand why since my horse didn't have any problem but right after he explained me that he uses it on his horses from time to time for many reasons - here are some of them:
  1. Acts fast to kill germs on the skin;
  2. Leaves their coat super shiny;
  3. The day after you use it, cleaning the horse will be easier.
I started by doing a full body rinse in order to get off dirt and sweat. After that, I put some water and Betadine on a bucket and mixed it until it got full of foam. Then I lathered Galileu up with a sponge until his body was full of foam. I let it sit for a minute or two and rinsed with clean water.

The results were amazing, after the bath his coat was gorgeous and so soft! Yesterday I didn't manage to take a photo of him but I will do it today and I will share it on Instagram (@equestriantrendblog).
Did you know this tip? :)

ROOTD Featuring MangoBay Belt

In the last few days the weather has been amazing, the sun is shining, everything looks prettier, everybody looks happier and my Summer holidays have finally started. There is only one problem, it is so hot that it gets impossible to ride outside during the afternoon!

Today I got some time to take photos wearing a riding outfit. It features my new MangoBay belt that was generously sent to me.

Polo: Ralph Lauren
Breeches: Euro-riders
Socks: Kingsland
Belt: MangoBay
Sneakers: Adidas

I hope that you like the outfit! Stay tuned, a giveaway is coming very soon. :)

Horsealot: The First Social Network For Riders

I have discovered Horsealot a while ago and I have been using it for about a month. I have so many great things to tell about it that I don't even know where I should start. Honestly, this is my newest "addiction" and it will probably become yours - don't miss Horsealot!

First of all, Horsealot was created by Alexandra Martel, a young French rider who felt that the equestrian world was missing something: a social network exclusively dedicated to us - riders, horse lovers, horse owners and so on. After spending time creating her project and gathering an incredible team - which includes Roxanne Legendre *fangirling* -, Horsealot was launched at the end of last year at the Lyon 5* show.

Today the network counts with about 55 000 members (I am proudly one of them) and they have just launched their new and much improved version. But what can we use Horsealot for? Well, for almost everything! We can ask questions to other riders, get the best answers, discover and follow professionals or even your favorite equestrian brands like CWD. We can also follow other amateur riders, horses and get all the news from the equestrian world. Aston, the mascot & Chief Happiness Officer, won't let you miss a thing!

Here are my pages on Horsealot:

Equestrian Trend's page - #equestriantrend. There you can see all of our news.

My personal page - @carolinasilva. It's the profile I use to ask and answer questions. If you want to follow my horse, his profile is "&galileu".

 I would love to see and follow your profiles on Horsealot! <3 If you already have an account follow me so that I can follow you back and if you don't have one yet, please, please, please create one, I am 100% sure that you will love it!
